The Anti-CD40 Antibody (FITC) [5C3] from Antibodies.com is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 reagent conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate for direct fluorescent detection of human CD40 in immunological research.

CD40 is a 48 kDa transmembrane member of the TNF receptor superfamily expressed on B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages, and other antigen-presenting cells, where engagement by CD154 (CD40 ligand) drives B cell activation, proliferation, germinal center formation, and immunoglobulin class-switch recombination. Clone 5C3 binds an extracellular epitope of human CD40 and has been cited in studies of B cell lymphomas, autoimmune disease, and transplant tolerance research.

Provided as 50 µg of liquid antibody in a single vial, the FITC conjugate is validated for flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry on human specimens. Fluorescein excitation peaks near 494 nm with emission around 519 nm, suiting standard 488 nm laser cytometers and common FITC filter sets. To preserve fluorescence intensity, store refrigerated at 4 °C, protected from light, and minimize freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting upon first use. This product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic procedures.
