CD40 is a 48 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein of the TNF receptor superfamily that mediates cognate T cell–B cell interactions, B cell proliferation, immunoglobulin class-switch recombination, and dendritic cell co-stimulation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is validated for Western blot detection of CD40 in human, mouse, and rat samples, making it useful for studies in transplant immunology, autoimmunity, lymphoma biology, and immune checkpoint signaling.

Supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the antibody is ready to dilute into standard Western blot workflows. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes on the CD40 receptor, which can be helpful when probing processed forms or splice variants of the receptor.

Researchers investigating germinal center formation, macrophage activation, or CD40–CD154 (CD40L) co-stimulatory signaling pathways can pair this reagent with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection on PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes.
