This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets CD329, the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin also known as Siglec-8. CD329 is a single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the CD33-related subfamily of siglecs, characterized by an extracellular Ig-like V-set domain and cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIM and ITIM-like). The receptor is expressed predominantly on eosinophils, mast cells, and basophils, with a more restricted cellular distribution than most other siglec family members.

The reagent is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated polyclonal antibody in a 100 µl volume, validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows against human samples. Researchers use it to detect CD329 in cell lysates and to characterize Siglec-8 surface expression on primary immune cell populations.

In the research literature, CD329 has attracted interest as a candidate target in eosinophil-driven inflammatory conditions, including allergic asthma, chronic spontaneous urticaria, and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders. Antibodies against this receptor are routinely used to characterize Siglec-8 expression on peripheral blood eosinophils, on mast cell lines such as HMC-1 and LAD2, and on basophil populations. The unconjugated format allows investigators to pair the antibody with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore detection reagents to fit individual assay designs.
