CD31, also called PECAM-1, is a 130 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein widely used as a marker of vascular endothelial cells, platelets, and certain leukocyte populations. This rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against the A280 region of CD31/PECAM-1 supports western blot workflows and has been validated by Antibodies.com to react with human, mouse, and rat samples, making it useful for vascular biology, angiogenesis, leukocyte transmigration, and tumor microvascular density research.

Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is unconjugated and ships as a 50 µl vial suitable for multiple western blot experiments. Researchers commonly apply it to endothelial cell lysates, platelet preparations, and tissue homogenates to confirm endothelial identity or to track changes in vessel-associated protein levels during inflammation, cardiovascular disease modeling, and cancer studies.

For best results, refrigerate the vial upon arrival, protect from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; aliquoting upon first use preserves antibody activity. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the target, which can be advantageous when probing denatured protein on western blot membranes.
