CD31, also called PECAM-1 (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule 1), is a 130 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein widely used as a canonical marker of vascular endothelium in cell biology and histopathology. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit against the A280 region of human CD31 and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated whole IgG at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The reagent is validated for Western blot detection of the target in lysates derived from human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species vascular, angiogenesis, tumor microenvironment, and endothelial barrier-function studies. Because it is unconjugated, it can be paired with HRP-, alkaline phosphatase-, or fluorophore-tagged secondary reagents to suit a chosen detection chemistry. The stock should be refrigerated, and the sodium azide in the buffer limits microbial growth over the working shelf life of the reagent.
