This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the CD3 zeta (ζ) chain, a 16 kDa transmembrane signaling subunit of the T-cell receptor (TCR)/CD3 complex that mediates antigen-driven T-cell activation. Raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of an unconjugated preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, it is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.

The zeta chain is the primary signal-transducing component of the TCR complex, and antibodies that recognize it are widely used to characterize T-lymphocyte populations, study TCR signaling pathways, and probe immune cell composition in tissue sections and cell preparations. Because CD3 ζ expression is largely restricted to T cells and NK cells in selected contexts, this reagent supports identification of T-lineage cells in lymphoid organs, tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte studies, and basic immunology research.

Recommended storage is at -20°C in the supplied glycerol-containing buffer, with minimal freeze-thaw cycling to preserve antibody integrity. For IHC and IF applications, common working concentrations begin in the 1-10 µg/ml range depending on the detection system and tissue type. The polyclonal nature of the reagent means multiple epitopes across the target are recognized, which can be advantageous for detecting the zeta chain under varied fixation and processing conditions.
