Anti-CD3-δ Antibody

Raised in rabbit, this polyclonal antibody targets the CD3-delta (CD3δ) polypeptide, one of the four invariant subunits (with CD3γ, CD3ε, and CD3ζ) that form the CD3 complex non-covalently associated with the T-cell receptor on thymocytes and mature peripheral T lymphocytes. Antibodies.com supplies it at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, in a 100 µl vial sized for routine immunostaining panels or multiple Western blot runs.

The unconjugated reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human specimens, allowing detection of the CD3δ chain in lymphoid tissue sections and in lysates from T-cell lines. It is used in research on intrathymic T-cell development, TCR signal transduction, and the immunophenotyping of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes. Because loss-of-function mutations in the CD3D gene cause severe combined immunodeficiency, the reagent is also deployed in studies characterizing T-cell maturation defects and in case workup of suspected SCID.

For best results, store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; the 50% glycerol in the formulation provides cryoprotection that tolerates short-term bench handling.
