This polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets CD272, also known as BTLA (B and T Lymphocyte Attenuator), an inhibitory co-receptor in the CD28 immunoglobulin superfamily that modulates lymphocyte activation thresholds through binding to HVEM (herpes virus entry mediator). Raised in rabbit, the reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated immunoglobulin at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, ready for direct detection or for use with secondary antibody systems.

Validated for Western Blot, the reagent reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat CD272, supporting comparative studies of BTLA expression across model systems. BTLA is expressed on resting B cells, naive T cells, and certain dendritic cell subsets, and is increasingly examined in research on immune checkpoint pathways, peripheral tolerance, chronic viral infection, and the tumour microenvironment.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody can recognise multiple epitopes on the target, often improving signal robustness when denatured protein is probed in Western Blot. The product should be stored refrigerated in the supplied buffer to preserve activity; for laboratory convenience, single-use aliquots may be prepared for longer-term frozen storage to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the working vial.
