CD207, also called Langerin, is a type II transmembrane C-type lectin that serves as a hallmark marker of Langerhans cells, the specialized antigen-presenting dendritic cells that populate stratified squamous epithelia such as epidermis and mucosal surfaces. Polyclonal antibodies raised against this target from Antibodies.com are produced in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated reagent at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, with a 100 µl vial format.

The antibody has been validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows and shows reactivity against both human and mouse samples, supporting cross-species studies of epidermal immunity, dendritic cell ontogeny, and Birbeck granule biogenesis. Researchers studying contact hypersensitivity, mucosal antigen sampling, or Langerhans cell histiocytosis use this reagent to map Langerin distribution in frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue sections and to confirm target expression in cell lysates.

The 50% glycerol component in the buffer permits storage at -20°C without freezing, and aliquoting on arrival is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format leaves the antibody open to downstream labeling with fluorophores, biotin, or enzymes as needed for custom detection chemistries in immunofluorescence, chromogenic staining, or immunoprecipitation protocols.
