This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against a synthesized peptide derived from the internal region of human CD163b, and the affinity-purified IgG preparation is supplied as an unconjugated liquid in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide at a working concentration of 1 mg/mL. The 50 µl vial is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted upon arrival for storage at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve antibody activity. The reagent specifically detects endogenous levels of the CD163b protein in human samples and has been validated by the manufacturer for two complementary applications: Western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The host species is rabbit, the clonality is polyclonal, the isotype is IgG, and the conjugate status is unconjugated, allowing end-users to pair the antibody with their own secondary detection systems or custom labelling chemistries. Because the immunogen corresponds to an internal sequence of human CD163b rather than a C-terminal epitope, the reagent is intended primarily for research use and is not cleared for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Researchers working on scavenger receptor cysteine-rich family proteins, monocyte/macrophage lineage markers, or haematopoietic cell-surface antigen profiling will find this format convenient for routine WB and ELISA workflows, and the affinity-purified, BSA-stabilised formulation is suitable for short-term bench use once thawed. Routine handling precautions for a sodium-azide-containing buffered reagent apply, including appropriate disposal of waste in compliance with institutional safety guidelines.
