Anti-CD14 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the CD14 innate immune receptor, a GPI-anchored pattern recognition protein expressed predominantly on the surface of monocytes and macrophages, and to a lesser extent on neutrophils. The unconjugated antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in a 50 µl vial, formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, ready for direct labeling or use in standard immunodetection workflows.

Validated for western blot, the antibody recognizes CD14 in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies of toll-like receptor 4 signaling, LPS co-receptor function, monocyte-to-macrophage differentiation, and innate immune activation. Researchers working with macrophage cell lines such as THP-1 or RAW 264.7, or with primary myeloid cell lysates, can probe for the expected band near 53–55 kDa, the apparent molecular weight of the mature, glycosylated CD14 glycoprotein.

Short-term refrigerated storage is appropriate for routine handling; for longer-term stability, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C and minimize freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. The polyclonal nature of the reagent provides recognition of multiple epitopes across the CD14 antigen, which can be advantageous when probing for full-length protein versus truncated or alternatively processed isoforms. Sodium azide in the formulation inhibits microbial growth but should be removed by buffer exchange or dialysis before any downstream conjugation, live-cell labeling, or functional assay application.
