CD133 (Prominin-1) is a pentaspan transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of hematopoietic stem cells, neural progenitors, and various cancer stem cell populations. This unconjugated Mouse IgG2a monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the human CD133 antigen and has been validated for Western blot (WB) application.

Each vial contains 50 µL of purified antibody in a 0.1M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl) supplemented with 0.2% sodium azide as a microbial preservative and 50% glycerol for cryoprotection during freeze-thaw handling. The unconjugated format gives laboratories the flexibility to conjugate the antibody to their own reporter enzymes, fluorophores, or capture beads for downstream detection.

Researchers commonly use Anti-CD133 reagents to characterize cancer stem cell populations in glioblastoma, colorectal carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and pancreatic adenocarcinoma models, as well as to study normal hematopoietic progenitors and epithelial progenitors. Expression of CD133 is associated with tumor initiation, chemoresistance, and disease recurrence across multiple solid tumor types. Because the reagent is monoclonal, lot-to-lot binding specificity against the extracellular region of human CD133 remains consistent, supporting reproducible detection of the target band in western blot experiments.
