CCR3 (C-C chemokine receptor type 3) is a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor best known as the principal receptor for the eotaxin chemokine family (CCL11, CCL24, CCL26) and as a key marker of eosinophil recruitment in allergic airway inflammation. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human CCR3 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples. Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, the antibody is unconjugated, allowing direct coupling to fluorophores, biotin, or HRP depending on the detection chemistry required by the laboratory. Researchers studying eosinophil trafficking, asthma pathophysiology, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, or parasitic-helminth immunity use CCR3-directed antibodies to localise receptor expression in bronchial biopsies, nasal polyps, and peripheral blood eosinophils by immunohistochemistry, and to detect receptor protein in transfected cell lines and primary leukocyte lysates by Western blot. Storage at -20 °C in small working aliquots preserves activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles, and short-term handling on ice is recommended during staining protocols. Because the reagent was raised against the human receptor, cross-reactivity with mouse or rat CCR3 has not been formally characterised and should be validated empirically before use in rodent tissue.
