Raised in rabbit against human CCL17 (also known as TARC, Thymus and Activation-Regulated Chemokine), this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of reagent for use in Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows. CCL17 is a small CC-family chemokine ligand that signals through the CCR4 receptor, driving recruitment of CCR4-positive Th2 lymphocytes, regulatory T cells, and cutaneous lymphocyte-associated antigen-positive cells during allergic and inflammatory responses.

The unconjugated format leaves detection chemistry open, so researchers can pair the antibody with HRP- or biotin-based chromogenic systems, alkaline phosphatase substrates, or fluorescent secondaries depending on the platform. In published work, CCL17 expression has been investigated as a tissue and serum biomarker in atopic dermatitis, asthma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and several solid tumour microenvironments, where IHC staining is used to highlight CCL17-producing dendritic cells and keratinocytes. WB on whole-cell lysates or tissue homogenates typically reveals the expected low-molecular-weight band consistent with a secreted chemokine. Because the host species is rabbit and the reagent is polyclonal, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes, which can be useful when probing denatured preparations or comparing across sample types. The product is reactive with human samples and is intended for research use only in dermatology, immunology, allergy, and tumour immunology laboratories.
