This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against CCBL1 (Cysteine Conjugate-Beta Lyase 1), a pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase also designated KAT1 that operates within the kynurenine branch of tryptophan catabolism. Supplied as an unconjugated antibody in a 100 µL vial, it is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) applications on human samples, enabling detection of endogenous CCBL1 protein in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections.

CCBL1/KAT1 catalyzes the transamination of kynurenine to kynurenic acid, a downstream metabolite linked to NMDA receptor modulation and aryl hydrocarbon receptor signaling, which makes the target of interest in studies of neuroinflammation, glioblastoma cell biology, hepatic detoxification, and tryptophan pathway dysregulation. The polyclonal format presents recognition across multiple epitopes of the CCBL1 polypeptide, an advantage when mapping isoform expression or working with limited sample material. Host species is rabbit, clonality is polyclonal, and the conjugate is unconjugated, allowing the researcher to pair the primary reagent with a secondary antibody of their choice for chromogenic or fluorescent readout.

For the product, aliquot upon arrival and store refrigerated; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light to maintain activity over the working shelf life. The 100 µL fill volume supports multiple standard immunoblot and IF experiments at typical working dilutions, and the unconjugated format is compatible with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary detection systems depending on the chosen workflow.
