Specifically raised against CCBL1 (Cysteine Conjugate-Beta Lyase 1), this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com enables Western blot and immunohistochemistry detection in human and rat sample preparations.

CCBL1, also known as KAT1 (Kynurenine Aminotransferase 1), is a pyridoxal-5'-phosphate-dependent enzyme that catalyzes transamination of L-kynurenine into kynurenic acid, a neuroactive metabolite implicated in neuroinflammation, immune regulation, and glutamatergic signaling. The protein is expressed across hepatic, renal, and neural tissues, supporting research on tryptophan catabolism, xenobiotic metabolism, and central nervous system function.

Produced in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent, the polyclonal format offers multi-epitope recognition of the target, which helps when probing endogenous protein across species or resolving alternatively spliced isoforms. The unconjugated presentation allows pairing with user-selected secondary detection chemistries, including HRP, fluorescent, or biotinylated reporter systems.

For storage, aliquot the antibody upon receipt and freeze at -20°C; protect from light and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve reagent activity. Working dilutions are prepared fresh for routine immunoblotting and tissue section staining workflows.
