Anti-CCBE1 Antibody

A primary antibody from Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes the CCBE1 target. It is supplied unconjugated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) at 1 mg/ml with 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2, and has been validated for Western blot (WB) applications. The antibody is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples and detects endogenous levels of CCBE1 protein.

The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human CCBE1, and the antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen, achieving a purity greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. The target protein has a molecular weight of approximately 44 kDa. CCBE1 is also known by the synonyms Collagen and calcium-binding EGF domain-containing protein 1, Full of fluid protein homolog, and KIAA1983.

CCBE1 encodes a 406 amino acid secreted protein that contains two collagen-like domains and one calcium-binding epidermal growth factor (EGF-like) domain. The gene is located on chromosome 18, in a region frequently found to be deleted in breast and prostate cancers. Downregulation of CCBE1 is observed at high frequency in breast cancer, and loss of the protein has been implicated in changes in cell adhesion and mobility, consistent with its characterization as an extracellular protein. Three named isoforms of CCBE1 are produced as a result of alternative splicing events.
