CBX3, also known as HP1γ (Heterochromatin Protein 1 gamma), is a chromodomain-containing nuclear protein that recognizes methylated histone H3 lysine 9 marks and contributes to heterochromatin maintenance, transcriptional silencing, and the DNA damage response. Investigators in chromatin biology, epigenetics, and nuclear organization depend on validated reagents to map CBX3 distribution across cell lines and tissue specimens.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against CBX3 and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows. The antibody cross-reacts with both human and mouse CBX3, supporting comparative studies between model systems. Supplied as 100 µl of liquid antiserum, the product ships in a single vial intended for research use only and is compatible with standard immunodetection protocols.

To preserve activity, aliquot the antibody upon arrival to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, and store at the conditions indicated on the enclosed data sheet. The polyclonal nature of the reagent allows recognition of multiple epitopes on CBX3, which can be useful when probing post-translationally modified variants of the protein in chromatin fractions or fixed tissue sections.
