Offered through Antibodies.com, the Anti-CBS polyclonal reagent (catalog A35652) is a rabbit-derived primary antibody raised against a recombinant human cystathionine beta-synthase (CBS) immunogen and purified by affinity chromatography to bind endogenous levels of the CBS protein. Supplied at 1.0 mg/mL in either a 50 µL or 100 µL volume, the unconjugated preparation is formulated in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, and is dispatched on cold packs from St. Louis, MO with a typical lead time of 6–9 business days. The host species is rabbit, the clonality is polyclonal, and the conjugate is unconjugated, leaving the antibody ready for direct detection or downstream labelling with the user's preferred secondary reagent. Validation work performed by Antibodies.com supports Western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) workflows, and the reagent cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples. Representative data include Western blot detection of CBS in mouse kidney lysates, immunofluorescence staining of U2OS cells with DAPI counterstain, and immunohistochemistry-type images of paraffin-embedded human oesophagus and rat kidney sections at a 1:100 dilution. CBS, also known as beta-thionase or serine sulfhydrase, is a ~61 kDa cytoplasmic enzyme that catalyses the first step of homocysteine trans-sulphuration, and this reagent is intended for research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Upon receipt, aliquot the antibody and store at −20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze/thaw cycles; the product is shipped at 4 °C to preserve activity during transit.
