Caveolin-3 (CAV3) is the muscle-specific scaffolding protein that defines the caveolae microdomains of skeletal and cardiac myocytes, organizing signal transduction at the sarcolemma. This recombinant rabbit monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets CAV3 for western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples, supplied as an unconjugated antibody in a 50 µl vial.

The formulation is built on TBS at pH7.4 with 1% BSA and 40% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, stabilized with 0.05% sodium azide preservative. Investigators studying caveolae biology, sarcolemmal membrane organization, and mechanotransduction in striated muscle rely on this reagent to interrogate CAV3 expression patterns in healthy and diseased tissue. CAV3 dysfunction is implicated in caveolinopathies such as limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 1C, rippling muscle disease, hyperCKemia, and certain cardiomyopathies, making reliable antibody detection central to research on these heritable muscle disorders.

The monoclonal format supports reproducible band intensity across replicates, and the unconjugated presentation allows downstream pairing with user-selected reporter-conjugated secondary antibodies suited to chemiluminescent western blot workflows. Store refrigerated short-term; for longer periods, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect the BSA-stabilized preparation from light until use.
