Anti-caveolin-2 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets caveolin-2 (CAV2), a roughly 21 kDa scaffolding protein that co-localizes with caveolin-1 within caveolae, the small flask-shaped invaginations of the plasma membrane. CAV2 participates in lipid raft assembly, cholesterol homeostasis, and modulation of receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, and altered CAV2 expression is studied in contexts ranging from cancer cell proliferation and tumor-microenvironment biology to vascular endothelial function and mechanotransduction.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum in a single vial and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples. Aliquoting upon first use is recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the reagent is intended for research use only in applications such as probing CAV2 abundance, subcellular localization, and interaction partners across cultured cell lines and tissue specimens.
