Anti-Caveolin-1 Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com as a primary antibody reagent, this unconjugated Mouse monoclonal antibody recognises Caveolin-1 and is validated for use in western blotting, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry. The reagent is supplied as a Mouse IgG1 isotype in a buffer containing TBS (pH 7.4), 1% BSA, and 40% glycerol, with 0.05% sodium azide included as preservative. Reactivity has been demonstrated in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples.

Caveolin-1 is an integral membrane protein that serves as a principal component of caveolae membranes in vivo. Two isoforms have been described: a slower migrating 24-kDa isoform and a faster migrating 21-kDa isoform. The caveolin family interacts with multiple signalling molecules, including the G-protein alpha subunit, tyrosine kinase receptors, PKCs, Src family tyrosine kinases, and eNOS. Caveolin-1 has also been implicated in the pathogenesis of mammary epithelial cell hyperplasia.
