Caveolin-1 (CAV1) is the signature scaffolding protein of caveolae, the flask-shaped invaginations of the plasma membrane that organize signal transduction, lipid trafficking, and endocytosis. Because it defines caveolae integrity, CAV1 is a widely used marker in studies of lipid raft biology, receptor signaling, and mechanotransduction in cancer, cardiovascular, and metabolic disease models.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody is raised against CAV1 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, where it detects endogenous Caveolin-1 in human, mouse, and rat tissue or cell samples. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes on the target, useful when probing truncated or post-translationally modified Caveolin-1 species.

Supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µL of polyclonal antiserum, the reagent can be paired with a researcher’s own HRP, fluorophore, or biotin-conjugated secondary, and the volume supports dozens of immunoblots or a substantial panel of IHC slides depending on working dilution. Store refrigerated at 2 to 8 degrees C to preserve antibody activity for repeated use.
