Raised in rabbit against an internal region of the target (epitope I292), this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes Cathepsin E, an aspartic endopeptidase expressed in immune cells, gastric epithelium, and erythrocytes. Cathepsin E is distinct from the related lysosomal protease cathepsin D and has documented roles in MHC class II-mediated antigen processing within dendritic and B cells, as well as altered expression in certain gastric and breast cancers.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as a 50 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. Validated applications include western blotting (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), with demonstrated reactivity against mouse, rat, and human Cathepsin E to support translational work spanning rodent disease models and patient tissue specimens.

For routine use, store the vial refrigerated at 4 °C; for extended storage, keep frozen at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the antibody solution.
