Beta-catenin (CTNNB1) is a dual-function protein that anchors E-cadherin at the plasma membrane and, upon Wnt pathway activation, translocates to the nucleus to co-activate TCF/LEF-mediated transcription. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the full-length ~92 kDa form as well as nuclear accumulation of truncated or stabilized species commonly observed in Wnt-driven tumors, supporting western blot analysis of signaling readouts and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections.

The reagent is validated for WB and IHC across human, mouse, and rat samples, making it a practical tool for comparing tumor versus normal tissue, tracking epithelial-mesenchymal transition states, and probing developmental time courses in rodent models. Supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antibody, it can be paired with a user-selected HRP, biotin, or fluorophore secondary antibody. For best signal-to-noise in western blot, run lysates under reducing conditions and probe for the characteristic band near 92 kDa; for IHC, antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is typically required to expose masked epitopes in fixed tissue.

Store aliquots at -20 °C in single-use fractions to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from prolonged light exposure if you later conjugate the antibody.
