Anti-Caspase-9 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against human Caspase-9 (CASP9), this Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody targets the apical initiator caspase of the intrinsic mitochondrial apoptosis pathway. Caspase-9 is recruited into the apoptosome complex with Apaf-1 and cytochrome c, where autocatalytic processing activates the enzyme and drives cleavage of downstream executioner caspases-3 and -7 during programmed cell death. The unconjugated reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows on human samples and ships as 100 µl of liquid antiserum ready for dilution into standard blocking buffers.

Because polyclonal sera recognize multiple epitopes across the target, the antibody is capable of detecting both full-length pro-Caspase-9 and the cleaved fragments generated when apoptosis is engaged, supporting studies of intrinsic pathway signaling, chemotherapeutic response in tumor models, and neurodegeneration research.
