Anti-Caspase-3 Antibody

This recombinant rabbit monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects endogenous Caspase-3, a 32 kDa cysteine-aspartic protease that serves as the central executioner of apoptosis. Caspase-3 is synthesized as an inactive zymogen (pro-caspase-3) and becomes activated during programmed cell death by cleavage at Asp175, releasing p17 and p12 fragments that assemble into the active heterotetramer that cleaves downstream substrates.

The unconjugated primary antibody is validated for western blot, immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections, and flow cytometry on human and rat samples. It is supplied as 100 µl of antibody in a TBS-based buffer at pH 7.4, supplemented with 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. The reagent supports research into cancer biology, neurodegeneration, developmental cell death, and toxicology where monitoring of apoptotic signaling is required, and is intended for research use only.
