Caspase-1, the cysteine protease that cleaves pro-IL-1β and pro-IL-18 into their mature inflammatory cytokines, generates a heterodimer composed of p20 and p10 subunits upon inflammasome activation. The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal antibody binds the p10 subunit, enabling researchers to track both the full-length zymogen and its processed cleavage product in human, mouse, and rat samples through western blot and immunocytochemistry workflows.

Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the unconjugated reagent is provided as a 50 µl liquid aliquot ready for dilution into standard blocking and staining buffers. The polyclonal format expands epitope coverage compared with monoclonal alternatives, which is helpful when probing low-abundance cleaved species or when mapping conformational changes in the mature (p10/p20) enzyme during pyroptosis. Validated reactivity across three species (human, mouse, rat) makes the antibody broadly useful in inflammation research covering macrophage cell culture, tissue lysates, and fixed-cell imaging of innate immune signaling.

Suggested laboratory applications include western blot analysis of LPS-primed and inflammasome-activated macrophage lysates, examination of gasdermin-D coupled pyroptotic cell death, and immunocytochemistry of monocytes challenged with NLRP3 activators. The unconjugated format pairs with HRP-conjugated or fluorescently labeled secondary antibodies, leaving chromophore, fluorophore, and detection platform choices to the end user.

Store refrigerated; aliquot the antibody solution before freezing to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the reconstituted stock.
