Targeting the cysteine-aspartic protease CASP3 (also known as CPP32, SCA-1, or CPP32B), this unconjugated rabbit monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com enables detection of both the ~35 kDa inactive pro-caspase-3 zymogen and the cleaved p17 and p12 subunits that mark executioner-phase apoptosis. Supplied as 100 µL of rabbit IgG (clone assigned A11024), the antibody is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation workflows on Human and Rat samples, and has been cited in peer-reviewed cleaved caspase-3 immunohistochemistry studies of cardiac tissue in rat cardiotoxicity models.

Because the reagent is unconjugated, investigators can pair it with their own choice of fluorophore- or enzyme-conjugated secondary antibodies for fixed tissue, cultured cell, or lysate-based detection. Recognition of both full-length and cleaved forms allows the antibody to monitor activation of intrinsic and extrinsic apoptotic cascades in neurodegeneration, ischemic injury, and oncology research. To preserve long-term reactivity across repeated experiments, store the vial at 4 °C for short-term use, aliquot on first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light.
