CASC3 (also known as MLN51 / Metastatic Lymph Node 51) is a core subunit of the exon junction complex (EJC), the ribonucleoprotein assembly deposited upstream of exon–exon junctions during pre-mRNA splicing. Together with eIF4A3, MAGOH/Y14, and RBM8A, CASC3 anchors the EJC to spliced mRNA and supports nuclear mRNA export, translation quality control, and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay.
