Produced by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated mouse monoclonal reagent, this antibody recognises the C-terminal region of CARM1, the type I protein arginine methyltransferase also called PRMT4 that deposits asymmetric dimethyl marks on histone H3 (notably H3R17 and H3R26) and on non-histone substrates involved in transcriptional coactivation and pre-mRNA splicing.

The reagent is supplied as 50 µL of purified immunoglobulin in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl, with 0.2% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is validated for western blot and immunoprecipitation on human and mouse samples. Because the epitope maps to the C-terminus rather than the internal methyltransferase domain, the antibody can be used alongside N-terminal or domain-specific reagents to distinguish full-length CARM1 from shorter isoforms such as the CARM1-Splice variant (CARM1-S) that arise from alternative splicing.

Researchers studying hormone-dependent transcriptional regulation, adipogenesis, and the epigenetic control of gene expression commonly apply this clone when probing nuclear extracts or immunoprecipitating endogenous CARM1-containing complexes from cell lysates. Store refrigerated for short-term use; the glycerol-containing formulation supports long-term storage at -20 °C without repeated freeze-thaw damage.
