CARM1 (also known as PRMT4) is a type I protein arginine methyltransferase that catalyzes asymmetric dimethylation of arginine residues on histone H3 and on a variety of non-histone substrates, where it functions as a transcriptional coactivator for nuclear receptors and other DNA-binding transcription factors. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against the C-terminal region of CARM1, allowing clean detection of the full-length protein in both human and mouse sample backgrounds. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of purified IgG in a vial containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer at pH 7.4 with 150 mM NaCl, 50% glycerol, and 0.2% sodium azide as a preservative, and is validated for western blot and immunoprecipitation workflows. For storage, keep the antibody frozen at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw damage; working dilutions can be refrigerated at 4 °C short term thanks to the cryoprotective glycerol. Because the mapped epitope sits at the C-terminus outside the catalytic core, the clone cleanly resolves endogenous CARM1 after cell lysis under non-denaturing conditions for IP and after denaturing SDS-PAGE transfer for WB.
