Carbonic anhydrase 9 (CAIX) is a hypoxia-inducible transmembrane zinc metalloenzyme that is overexpressed across many solid tumors and contributes to extracellular acidification of the tumor microenvironment. The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and supplied as a 100 µL vial of unconjugated antiserum, validated for western blot and immunofluorescence on human samples.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antiserum recognizes multiple epitopes across the CA9 protein, which can increase signal intensity in immunoblotting and immunostaining workflows relative to monoclonal alternatives. The unconjugated format gives researchers flexibility in choosing secondary antibodies and detection chemistries, including HRP, fluorophore, or biotin conjugates.

Typical research applications include probing CA9 as a hypoxia marker in renal cell carcinoma, cervical, breast, and lung tumor models, mapping HIF-1α driven transcriptional programs, and characterizing pH-regulating enzymes in the tumor microenvironment. Intended for research use only, this polyclonal reagent supports studies in cancer biology, tumor metabolism, and biomarker validation.
