Anti-CAPN3 Antibody

Calpain-3 (CAPN3) is a skeletal-muscle-enriched calcium-dependent cysteine protease whose loss-of-function mutations are linked to limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A (LGMD2A/R1). This reagent, supplied by Antibodies.com, is a rabbit polyclonal anti-CAPN3 antibody validated for Western blot analysis of the endogenous protease in human, mouse, and rat samples.

The antibody is raised in rabbit and purified as an unconjugated IgG preparation, packaged in a 200 µl vial that supports multiple immunoblotting experiments. It is recommended for denaturing SDS-PAGE workflows followed by transfer to PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes, where CAPN3 bands can be revealed with an HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody and chemiluminescent detection.

For routine use, store the antibody at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, and keep it protected from light until required.
