Calpain-2 (CAPN2) is the large catalytic subunit of m-calpain, a calcium-dependent intracellular cysteine protease that cleaves substrates involved in cytoskeletal remodeling, cell-cycle progression, and apoptotic signaling. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is provided as a 200 µl vial under the assigned clone identifier A0900 and binds the human CAPN2 target with IgG isotype specificity.

Researchers use it in western blot workflows to detect the full-length approximately 80 kDa catalytic subunit, in immunohistochemistry on fixed tissue sections to map protease distribution, and in flow cytometry to assess endogenous CAPN2 levels in permeabilized cell populations. The unconjugated format gives laboratories flexibility to conjugate the antibody to HRP, biotin, fluorophores, or gold particles depending on the chosen detection chemistry.

Aliquot upon receipt and store frozen at -20 °C; refrigerated short-term handling is acceptable, and the reagent should be shielded from repeated freeze-thaw cycles. For research use only.
