Calpain-2 (CAPN2) is the large catalytic subunit of the m-calpain heterodimer, a calcium-dependent cysteine protease that cleaves substrates involved in cytoskeletal remodeling, cell-cycle progression, and apoptotic signaling. Aberrant CAPN2 activity has been documented in neurodegeneration, ischemic injury, and several tumor types, making it a frequent target of mechanistic studies in oncology and neuroscience labs. The mouse monoclonal reagent (clone #A0900) from Antibodies.com detects human CAPN2 and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry on cell lysates, fixed tissue sections, and suspension cell lines. Supplied as a 100 µL vial of IgG antibody in unconjugated format, it can be paired at the bench with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary reagents of the researcher's choice. Host species is mouse; isotype IgG; species reactivity is restricted to human CAPN2. Aliquot upon receipt and freeze for longer-term storage, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. For in vitro research use only.
