Calnexin is a calcium-binding, approximately 90 kDa integral membrane chaperone that resides in the endoplasmic reticulum, where it partners with calreticulin to oversee folding of newly synthesized glycoproteins through the lectin-binding cycle. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against the CANX target and is supplied as 50 µl of antibody. Researchers apply it in western blot workflows to confirm calnexin expression across human, mouse, and rat lysates, and in immunohistochemistry to mark endoplasmic reticulum architecture in fixed tissue sections. Because calnexin is an established ER-resident compartment marker, the antibody is used in co-localization studies with other secretory pathway proteins and in quality-control monitoring of glycoprotein maturation. Store the vial refrigerated for short-term use, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light to preserve antibody activity for research use only applications.
