Supplied by Antibodies.com, this rabbit monoclonal IgG1 reagent is raised against Candida albicans and is provided as a Protein A-purified, unconjugated primary antibody in a 1 mg pack size. It is validated for use in ELISA and indirect immunofluorescence assays (IFA), and is supplied as a liquid formulation intended for research use only. The antibody is reactive with multiple Candida species — including ten strains of C. albicans, C. parapsilosis, C. glabrata and C. tropicalis — while showing no reactivity toward C. krusei, Aspergillus species, Coccidioides, Histoplasma, Blastomyces, Paracoccidioides, Penicillium notatum, Mucor, Saccharomyces cerevisiae or Pichia pastoris. Host species is rabbit, clonality is monoclonal and the isotype is IgG1, and the product is presented unconjugated in a phosphate-buffered saline matrix at the concentration stated on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis. For optimal assay sensitivity the manufacturer recommends that specimens be extracted with 0.4 M sodium hydroxide prior to testing, and the antibody is reported to be greater than 90% pure by SDS-PAGE when examined under denaturing conditions. Short-term storage is at 2–8 °C and the reagent is stable at −20 °C for long-term archival; repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to preserve activity. Distributed through AFMS, this Antibodies.com primary antibody is intended for life-science research applications such as ELISA-based detection of fungal antigens and immunofluorescence staining of C. albicans in clinical and laboratory specimens.
