Anti-Cancer Antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) MUC 1 Antibody

Offered by Antibodies.com, this purified monoclonal antibody is directed against Cancer Antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3), a carbohydrate determinant carried on the mucin MUC1 glycoprotein. It is a mouse monoclonal of the IgG2b, kappa isotype, supplied at 1 mg per vial as a purified immunoglobulin in 10 mM phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) containing 0.1% sodium azide as preservative. The reagent was raised against human milk fat globule membranes and reacts with human MUC1, the large transmembrane mucin that is overexpressed and aberrantly glycosylated in the majority of human carcinomas, including breast carcinoma where CA 15-3 serves as a circulating tumor marker. Recommended applications are ELISA and immunohistochemistry (IHC), making the antibody suitable for both quantitative immunoassays and localization of MUC1/CA 15-3 in formalin-fixed tissue sections. The product is unconjugated, allowing users to couple it to enzymes, fluorophores, or biotin as required by their assay. For short-term storage the vial can be kept refrigerated, and for long-term stability it should be aliquoted and stored frozen to preserve antibody activity.
