This rabbit polyclonal phospho-specific reagent from Antibodies.com detects CaMKII alpha and beta subunits only when threonine 286 is phosphorylated, the autophosphorylation site that converts the kinase into its calcium-independent, constitutively active state. The antibody is formulated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2 and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples.

T286 autophosphorylation is a widely used molecular readout of NMDA receptor-dependent signaling, long-term potentiation, and activity-driven synaptic remodeling in neurons. Investigators studying hippocampal plasticity, ischemic injury, cardiac arrhythmia models, and excitatory versus inhibitory balance routinely track phospho-T286 CaMKII levels to quantify kinase engagement following calcium influx. Because the antibody is supplied unconjugated, researchers can pair it with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates of their choice, and the 100 µl vial supports multiple pilot experiments and full immunoblot panels.

For handling, store the vial refrigerated at 4 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the stock solution; under these conditions the antibody remains stable for routine research use only. The polyclonal rabbit host provides strong signal amplification across the validated applications, and direct dilution into standard blocking buffers is recommended for immunoblotting and immunostaining workflows.
