Raised in rabbit against the CALY target, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. CALY (calcyon, also referenced as DRD1IP) is a small neuronal protein predominantly expressed in brain tissue, where it participates in clathrin-independent endocytosis and modulates dopamine receptor D1 signaling and intracellular trafficking, making the antigen relevant to studies of synaptic vesicle cycling, receptor internalization, and dopaminergic pathway biology.

The unconjugated IgG preparation is validated for Western blot (WB) detection across human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species work in neural cell lines, primary neuron cultures, and rodent tissue lysates. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on CALY, which can be advantageous when probing low-abundance targets or when a monoclonal binder is not available for a specific application. Sodium azide is included to preserve microbial stability for routine bench use; for sensitive downstream assays, the buffer can be exchanged by dialysis or desalting prior to use.

Storage at -20°C in aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity across multiple experiments. The 100 µl pack size is well suited to medium-throughput screening and to labs evaluating CALY expression alongside related vesicle and receptor proteins in neuroscience, neuropharmacology, and membrane trafficking research programs.
