Calumenin is a CREC-family calcium-binding protein localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, where it supports calcium homeostasis, assists in protein folding quality control, and participates in the unfolded protein response. This Mouse IgG1 monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com binds the C-terminus of calumenin, enabling Western blot detection in human and mouse samples. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of purified immunoglobulin in 0.1M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4) with 150 mM NaCl, 50% glycerol, and 0.2% sodium azide, and is unconjugated for flexible downstream labeling. Research links calumenin to cardiac remodeling, certain tumor microenvironments, and models of neurodegeneration, so the reagent is useful for scientists interrogating ER stress, secretory pathway function, or calcium-handling biology. Short-term storage at 4 °C works for working aliquots; for longer intervals, freeze at -20 °C and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. The product ships as a single vial of ready-to-use clarified supernatant-style preparation and should be protected from light during handling.
