Calsequestrin-2 (CASQ2) is a high-capacity, luminal calcium-binding glycoprotein of the cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum, where it buffers and stores Ca²⁺ ions for rapid release during excitation-contraction coupling in cardiomyocytes. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human CASQ2 protein and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human tissue.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antisera, the antibody enables detection of the endogenous ~46 kDa CASQ2 monomer and higher-order multimers in cardiac muscle lysates. Researchers investigating catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, calcium-handling disorders, and cardiac muscle physiology use this reagent to map the expression and subcellular distribution of the sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium reservoir.

For Western blot, denatured heart-tissue homogenates are resolved on SDS-PAGE, transferred to nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, and probed at working dilutions optimized for chemiluminescent or fluorescent readout. For immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded cardiac sections, citrate-buffer antigen retrieval followed by standard horseradish peroxidase or fluorescence detection reveals the striated, junctional SR-associated signal characteristic of CASQ2.

Short-term storage at refrigerated temperatures is recommended; for longer projects, aliquot the vial to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles and keep working stocks at sub-zero temperatures.
