This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets calregulin (also known as calreticulin), an approximately 46 kDa calcium-binding lectin chaperone that resides in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum. The antibody is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged as a 100 µl volume, and was raised against the Calregulin target for use across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Validated applications include Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation, allowing detection of endogenous calregulin in cell lysates, frozen or paraffin-embedded tissue sections, fixed cultured cells, and native protein complexes. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes, supporting consistent signal in both denaturing gels and native immunoprecipitations.

Calregulin contributes to ER calcium storage, glycoprotein folding quality control, and assembly of MHC class I peptide complexes. It is also exposed on the surface of cells undergoing immunogenic cell death, where it serves as a phagocytic eat-me signal relevant to studies of cancer immunogenicity, antigen presentation, and CALR exon 9 mutations found in myeloproliferative neoplasms such as essential thrombocythemia and primary myelofibrosis.

For handling, store aliquots at -20 degrees C, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and centrifuge briefly before opening. The included sodium azide serves as a preservative; for live-cell labeling or azide-sensitive downstream applications, dialyze or exchange the buffer before use. Intended for research use only.
