Calreticulin (CALR) is a highly conserved ~46 kDa calcium-binding chaperone resident in the endoplasmic reticulum lumen, where it directs glycoprotein quality control, regulates intracellular calcium homeostasis, and is exported to the cell surface during immunogenic cell death. This rabbit polyclonal antibody was raised against CALR and is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µL aliquot of unconjugated serum intended for western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation across human, mouse, and rat samples.

Because CALR is a broadly expressed ER marker, the reagent is widely used in studies of ER stress, unfolded protein response signaling, and the molecular chaperone network. It is also a tool of choice in hematology research focused on CALR exon 9 mutations, which drive a subset of myeloproliferative neoplasms such as essential thrombocythemia and primary myelofibrosis, and in investigations of calreticulin exposure as a damage-associated molecular pattern relevant to anti-tumor immunity.

Recommended starting dilutions are typical for polyclonal reagents: 1:500–1:2000 for western blot, 1:50–1:200 for IHC on formalin-fixed sections, and 1:50–1:100 for immunofluorescence on cultured cells. Store the vial at 4 °C short term and at -20 °C for longer term, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Western blots of whole-cell lysates typically produce a band near 46 kDa, consistent with the mature calreticulin species.
