Anti-Calmodulin Antibody

A recombinant rabbit monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com that recognizes Calmodulin (CaM), the 17 kDa calcium-binding messenger protein encoded by the highly conserved CALM1, CALM2, and CALM3 genes. Calmodulin transduces intracellular calcium signals through four EF-hand motifs and modulates the activity of downstream enzymes such as CaMKII, calcineurin, and myosin light chain kinase, making it a focal target in studies of synaptic plasticity, cardiac excitation-contraction coupling, smooth muscle contraction, and cell cycle progression.

This unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl of product in 1× TBS (pH 7.4) containing 1% BSA and 40% glycerol, preserved with 0.05% sodium azide. It is validated for western blot, immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples. For best results, store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity across repeated imaging and immunoblotting workflows.
