Anti-Caldesmon (S783) Antibody

Rabbit polyclonal immunoglobulin from Antibodies.com, raised against a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to serine 783 of human caldesmon, supplied unconjugated as a 50 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.2) with 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. The antibody selectively detects the phosphorylated form of this actin- and myosin-binding regulatory protein, enabling work on actomyosin ATPase regulation and cytoskeletal remodeling in contractile cells.

Validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human, mouse, and rat samples, the reagent is widely applied as a smooth muscle marker to differentiate vascular and visceral smooth muscle layers from adjacent stroma in fixed tissue sections, and as a phospho-specific probe in signaling studies of smooth-muscle contraction.
