Caldesmon (CALD1) is an actin- and myosin-associated protein that regulates smooth muscle contraction and cytoskeletal remodeling. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against CALD1 and validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100µl aliquots and shows reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, making it useful for cross-species studies of smooth muscle biology and cytoskeletal architecture. The polyclonal format provides multiple epitope recognition, supporting detection of both the high molecular weight smooth muscle isoform and the lower molecular weight non-muscle variant. Researchers commonly apply this reagent to investigate CALD1 expression in vascular tissue, myometrium, and tumor samples where altered caldesmon levels have been linked to invasion and metastasis.
