CACNA1C encodes the pore-forming α1C subunit of the voltage-gated L-type calcium channel Cav1.2, which mediates calcium influx in excitable cells and is central to cardiac contraction, neuronal firing, and calcium-dependent gene expression. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, ready for direct use in WB (western blot) workflows. The antibody recognizes the CACNA1C target in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of channel expression in cardiomyocytes, neurons, and heterologous expression systems. Researchers investigating inherited arrhythmia syndromes such as Timothy syndrome and Brugada syndrome, in which CACNA1C mutations alter channel gating and kinetics, use this reagent to probe endogenous protein levels in tissue lysates and transfected cell lines. Aliquot upon arrival and store at -20°C in single-use portions to preserve activity across multiple experiments and limit freeze-thaw cycles.
