The polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets human Carbonic Anhydrase 1 (CA1), a cytosolic zinc metalloenzyme that catalyzes the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated 100 µL aliquot, this reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples. CA1 is most abundantly expressed in erythrocytes and the gastrointestinal epithelium, where it supports CO2/bicarbonate balance and intracellular pH regulation; the antibody is useful for studies of red blood cell biology, mucosal ion transport, and the rare CA1-deficient hemolytic phenotypes documented in the hematology literature.

Working with this polyclonal reagent: dilute as appropriate for your chosen application, store refrigerated short-term, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve reactivity. The rabbit host and polyclonal format allow recognition of multiple epitopes across the CA1 protein, which can be advantageous when probing denatured targets on membranes or fixed tissue sections in IHC. Because the conjugate is unconjugated, the antibody is compatible with secondary detection reagents of the researcher's choice for either chromogenic or fluorescent readouts on human specimens.
